Abstract
Introduces good practice aspects for managing and providing routine and winter services on the trunk road network. This section deals with paved areas, drainage, geotechnical asset management, structures, tunnels, road restraint systems, Highways Agency traffic management systems (HATMS), road markings and road studs, traffic signs and signals, lighting, soft estate, sweeping and cleaning, fences, walls, screens and environmental barriers, litter, landfill directive and liquid waste, environmental aspects of maintenance operations, health and safety management issues and workplace hazards.
