Abstract
EC Directive 842/2006 seeks to reduce emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases used as refrigerants, by containment and leakage prevention. DEFRA have produced this initial guidance to introduce the regulation looking at the scope, definitions, containment obligations and responsibilities, recovery obligations and responsibilities, training and certification, reporting, labelling, control of use, placing on the market, alternatives, penalties and protective measures.
